Charles Wellbeloved was a unitarian divine and archaeologist. Born in London, he grew up at Surrey. In 1785, he became a student at Homerton Academy under Benjamin Davis. Due to ideological differences, Wellbeloved transferred to New College in 1787. He accepted his first cleric position at St. Saviourgate Chapel, York. His first act was to establish a Sunday school.
